MAHA MANDI 2015 – A DELIGHTFUL EXPERIENCE!!
Finally the day arrived. 8th August, 2015, and i was all set to go to the streets of Mumbai to test my marketing skills. Right from the childhood i have seen this type of sales pitching as a customer but today, it was the opposite side of the story. So, i along with my team went to Juhu beach . Half an hour of continuous pitching but no success. But the best thing was a new and fresh experience that i was getting after each and every try.
The first success came in no time and the first product to be sold was “Number Balance“. Though I initially found it difficult to demonstrate but then it all went well.I showed them all of the demonstrations and after being fully convinced, the mam bought it for her little daughter.
At the same time, when i was giving the demo for Number balance, another NRI lady came and asked if i had another Number Balance and i asked her to try “Jodo”. It was quiet easy to demonstrate as i had a complete knowledge of it and already had 2-3 structures made beforehand. Thus my first “Jodo” was also sold. Two products sold in just ten minutes. But one thing was common in both the customers. Both were mothers with their kids, so it was easy to convince them.
Then again, the selling continued and we struggled for another half an hour. This time we dealt with a bit different type of customers, who initially showed interest and listened to each and every word patiently but at the end there was a big no.But doesn't matter, it only made our pitching stronger and guess, after 4-5 failed attempts the third product was sold. After about an hour our whole inventory was sold.
Learning from MAHA MANDI:
1. HAVE A THOROUGH KNOWLEDGE OF THE PRODUCT:
One needs to have a thorough knowledge of the product because if you try to hesitate in between then the customer might loose confidence in you.
2. TARGET CORRECT CUSTOMERS:
The main thing while marketing is to pick the right spot. First of all, we have to identify our potential customers, and once found we have to pitch a smile on your face and everything will work out well.
well.Carry
3. RESPECT YOUR CUSTOMERS:
While selling, however tough the situation might be, one should always respect the customer. There is nothing called as the good customer or bad customer and it all depends on the situation and his/her ability to pay. So, always keep this thing in your mind and try to be as patient as possible with them.
Finally, it was a day full of mixed emotions i.e happiness, irritation, dejection, rejections but the day will be always cherished through my life as it was one of its own kind of experience.
To sum it up, it was an enriching experience.
Thank you Dr Prasad Sir.
